United Nations Human Rights Council
Welcome to UNHRC at SBIMUN 2018! We'll be addressing the issues of censorship in authoritarian regimes and human rights violations in the Syrian Arab Republic during our time together. I look forward to hearing your ideas and positions in our debates and encourage everyone to adhere to their country's position to encourage maximum dialogue. The Human Rights Committee is a valuable entity in our international community, committed to promoting and protecting human rights around the world, whether that is through an investigation of alleged human rights abuses or simply thematic discussions aimed at strengthening the rights of particularly vulnerable groups, such as ethnic or religious minorities. The work done by the Human Rights Committee exemplifies the power of supranational organizations to create and maintain a fair and just world and I am excited to see how you all contribute to that mission in this conference.
