Honored delegates, staff, and advisors:
It is with great pleasure that I cordially invite you to the fourth annual Santa Barbara Intercollegiate Model United Nations Conference (SBIMUN) which will be held from November 8-10, 2013.
Since its establishment in 2010, SBIMUN has grown to the largest college-level conference on the West coast. SBIMUN brings together approximately 380 delegates from over 22 universities from all over California, Arizona, and Washington. Every year, our Secretariat works passionately to accommodate more delegates in variety of forums on a wide range of pertinent international issues. From joint-crisis committees to specialized sport-related topics, Santa Barbara Model UN consistently strives for excellence in the quality of our conferences; Aiming to provide a rewarding experience both inside and outside of committee.
This year changes have been made to the conference schedule to ensure that delegates receive a fulfilling and comprehensive conference experience. Changes include opening ceremony held on Friday evening, as well as conference sponsored training sessions and social events for both Friday and Saturday night. We will also be hosting more committees to meet the increased demand by delegates wanting to attend SBIMUN.
Priority registration will run from June 1st and run until August 24th. We welcome delegates of all experience levels to register and we will do our best to provide training materials. Please check our website for rules of procedure, background guides and other resources that will be continuously updated until the conference.
