UCSB Model United Nations is a student-run organization that simulates United Nations debates. MUN encourages international awareness and develops communications skills by allowing students to take on the role of sovereign countries and participate in structured debate to find solutions for global issues. Our members compete with students from other colleges and universities at domestic and international conferences, in addition to hosting our own high school and collegiate-level conferences at UCSB.
Outside of organizing conferences and fielding a competitive travel team, we are advocates for the United Nations and its principles, through our leadership roles in the United Nations Association Santa Barbara Chapter, UCSB Associated Students and Human Rights Board. Throughout the year, we host lectures, film screenings, and various other outreach events open to the Santa Barbara community.
We invite you to learn more about SBMUN and our members by attending one of our weekly meetings on Mondays, 7:00 pm in the UCen Flying "A" Room. Visit our Facebook Page for updated times and locations. You can also email our Executive Board via firstname.lastname@example.org with any individual questions, proposals, or concerns.
